Thanks Jeanne, the recipes in the files re fantastic and the good part is they

have been adapted, I'm always afraid to serve a new recipe from a cookbook for

a dinner unless I've tried it out first.

Re: recipe cookbook

The one I started with over 20 years ago was Diet for a Small Planet by Francis

Moore Lappe. I still use it. The book has more than just recipes, it has

eye-opening facts about meat, meat production and ecological impact of the

industry.

I also highly recommend a trip through this group's files. The sheer wealth of

TNT recipes from practicing vegetarians is incredible. I am confident that if

any member of this group was given a grocery list of " Well, I have this and that

and some of this and a little of that on hand " that at least one person could

give you ideas for a meal and recipes to go with the recommendation.

When it comes to using a search engine for vegetarian recipes and life, we, as

the garden of earthly delights (IMO) beats them all, hands down.

~zillion bean and stuff chili is bubbling in the crockpot, French bread is

cooling in the kitchen under the watchful eyes of my bread-loving feline

companions, and a lemon meringue pie is hidden in the fridge behind some

carrots.

I really liike the first one I got. It is 1.001 Low-fat Vegetarian Recipes by

Sue Spitler. I also like the last one I got, The Vegetarian Epicure by Anna

Thomas.
