Guest guest
Hi all: I am interested in juicing and was wondering if any of you could recommend a brand. I had a Braun juicer years ago, but the capacity wasn't great and so I gave up. My research so far points to a brand called Omega 8003. TIA peace paula Be smarter than spam. Guest guest
I have a Breville Juice Fountain. It's over a year old. I am very happy with it. It is used daily. Guest guest
I think it depends on your needs. I have a Breville Juice Fountain and I like it, but it doesn't handle leafy greens too well. (It helps if you roll them into a " ball " shape.) I think the Omega would be a better choice for greens. The Breville works great on things like carrots, celery, apples, strawberries, etc. It's also pretty easy to clean. I don't own an Omega, but I think it's harder to clean. I know people who own both. :-) Sharon Paula Harris wrote: > Hi all: > > I am interested in juicing and was wondering if any of you could recommend a brand. Guest guest
I have a Champion I've been using for about 12 years now. I have other friends who have had and used theirs for over 30 years. I like mine, although I find if I juice for a couple of people I have to stop and clean out the sleeve. I usually juice about 24 oz for myself with no problems. I've just started adding a handful of spinach, and find no problems. It's easy to clean; less than three or four minutes once you are familiar with it. You should be able to find one at health food stores for a very little over $200. Wait for a sale. I looked online at the Breville and that does look like an awfully nice one. Just my 2c worth. Guest guest
Hmmm. My Breville works well with spinach and kale. I just stuff them between hard stuff and then add more hard stuff. Never tried strawberries. Sue ---- Sharon Zakhour 11/15/2007 9:07:47 AM Re: juicingspeak I think it depends on your needs. Guest guest
Hi, I've got a vita-mix,been using it for about 5 years now. It's a " whole food " juicer,so you get all the nutrients and fiber that are discarded from other types of juicers. Works well and I like it. Puttin' in my 2c. Robert Be a better pen pal. Text or chat with friends inside Mail. See how.
Guest guest
I'm with you there, Robert! I LOVE my Vitamix and use it every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times. But I also have a Breville Juice Fountain that I occasionally use. For example, when I make a particular soup, it calls for the juice of 5 lbs of carrots and two bunches of celery as the stock. You put whole onions, leeks, and other veggies in the soup. After they're soft, you pick out the whole veggies, add some of the broth, some raw cashews, and blend it up in the Vitamix. The result is rich and creamy. Also, those who follow an autoimmune protocol do lots of juicing in addition to consuming lots of whole veggies (either blended or not). You certainly don't want to drink juice _instead_ of whole veggies, though. :-) Sharon robert burkhardt wrote: > Hi, > I've got a vita-mix,been using it for about 5 years now. It's a " whole food " juicer,so you get all the nutrients and fiber that are discarded from other types of juicers. > Works well and I like it. > Puttin' in my 2c. > Robert >
Guest guest
Pamela I juice greens with one carrot and half an apple. Taste is perfect. I began with the Greenstar. My only issue, after much experimentation DH and I have yet to find a fresh veggie juice recipe we can stomach. We find carrot juice WAY too sweet. Do you have any TNT juice recipes? Many thanks! Guest guest
Hello, I like the idea on a blender that uses all the veggie without waste. What is the Greenstar model. I'm trying to Google it now. Is there a good site you went to for ordering? Thanks! Pamela Brehm <revopal wrote: Robert, I too have a Vita-mix and bought it for those very reasons. Guest guest
The web site is www.tribestlife.com They also sell other appliances like yogurt makers, soy milk makers etc. The prices are not cheap because the quality is exceptional. Hope this helps! If you find any TNT juice recipes let me know. Pamela sabina <sabinaz123 wrote: Hello, I like the idea on a blender that uses all the veggie without waste. Guest guest
Donna, Then it just must be my taste preferences. I also tried that combo and DH and I just could not handle it. So very sweet. We even tried adding some lemon to that combo with did help take some of that sweet edge away though both decided it was not something we would drink on any kind of regular basis. So, now we just eat our veggies raw or lightly steamed. Not as concentrated as the juice but better than nothing. Pamela thelilacflower wrote: Pamela I juice greens with one carrot and half an apple. Guest guest
Try adding some ginger to carrots, celery, apple, and kale in the proportions that you like. If this is still too sweet, juice a hot pepper with it, it will balance the sweetness. Also, if you use bitter greens (like collards) it will also balance the sweetness Another combination i like a lot: Melon (I llike honey dew) Kale ginger I has this emerald green color too, very pretty. , Pamela Brehm <revopal wrote: > > Donna, > > Then it just must be my taste preferences.
