Guest guest
Good Morning This soup will freeze but cut the potatoes down or eat most of those out before you freeze. For some reason the potatoes always draw water. I always freeze soups. It makes a fast lunch for me at work. I just grab a baggie of soup on the way out the door. Enjoy Donna Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile dianna <di_wtch Mon, 19 Nov 2007 06:08:18 Potato Barley Soup-Donna Donna, I was looking at the recipe and it looks yummy. Was wondering if you had tried freezing it and how it did. My dh doesn't (for some weird reason) eat/like soup, so if I make it, I try to make something I can freeze. So I don't end of eating a whole pot of soup in 3 days, lol. Thanks, Di Be a better sports nut! Let your teams follow you with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
I love freezing soup on those glass freezer canning jars. They are wide mouth and I feel that I can cook one in the microwave anytime for a meal or a snack. I was unaware of the potatoes drawing water. When you say, cut the potatoes down, how small do you think they need to be or should they be pureed? I often use the shredder on the food processor with raw potatoes before I throw them into soups. I am wondering of that is small enough. thelilacflower wrote: Good Morning This soup will freeze but cut the potatoes down or eat most of those out before you freeze. Guest guest
I don't have very good luck freezing potatoes so I meant eat most of the potatoes out of the soup or cup down the amount in the recipe and up the barley amount a little more. They seem to draw water or taste soggy after I freeze them. Enjoy the recipe. I love to freeze soups too.
