Guest guest
I'm not going to take the chance. I have a flagstone very tall fireplace and Tazz can rock climb it to the top. She doesn't break things or cause damage but if she wants to climb up on something she is going to do it and that's that. She will sit on the edge of the bath and take her paws and throw water on me while I'm soaking. I had a doxie who didn't like the Christmas tree in front of the patio window. She would grab the tree water pan and drag it across the room and then drag her dog bed back in front of the patio door. It was a 6 foot tree and she weighed 10 lbs. She is very, very strong willed. When I spritz her with water, she ignores it until I've spritzed her about a dozen times and the water is running into her eyes. When I point my finger at her and say no forcefully, she actually laughs at me and bats my finger away. I've given her a pat on the behind, and that really annoys her - she will either hiss at me or sit down and give me dirty looks only to go back to whatever she was doing a few minutes later. So far, the only thing that works reliably is if I hiss at her - that is so shocking to her that she runs away and hides. I'm thinking that I'll have to shut her and the dog up in a bedroom while I'm at work all day while the tree is up. I've got a big tree - 9 feet high, and if she climbs up it, I can't get her down! Are there any cat repellant spray products that truly work? What can I do to keep the cat *and* the tree *and* all my beautiful ornaments safe? Help!
