Guest guest
Hi, I joined your group several days ago and I want to apologize for not introducing myself sooner. I have been very busy at home....I think a little crazy would be a better word...smile. Thanks for the invitation, Donna. I am really glad to be here and plan on participating. I need to read all of yours posts and catch up. I have been a vegetarian off and on most of my adult life. I feel so much better when I don't eat meat...it's amazing. I am a vegetarian because I don't want poor innocent animals killed for me to stuff my face with their dead bodies. I wish the world had been started with vegetarian as a way of life and most animals as pets or the wild ones left alone. My husband will eat a "no meat" meal with me 2 or 3 nights a week....I'm working on him...smile. Okay, I will shut up for now. I sometimes get started and can't stop. Thanks, Kay
Guest guest
welcome Kay! so glad you introduced your nice self. I make no meat dinners for my meat eating family every time I cook. I refuse to cook meat unless it's a special circumstance. They complain a bit, but they all say that they want to cut down, and that is one meal a daythey don't have meat. they still gorge on it at lunch though. Oh well. Guest guest
I work for a tea store called galatea. While working there I have had a number of customers with the same problem. You could try drinking Match, which is a powdered green tea. It has more nutrients than an average green tea because you are ingesting the whole leaf. Matcha is a stronger laxative. You could also try drinking chrysanthemum puer tea, which is a gentler laxative. Hope this helps! Guest guest
I had this problem really bad over the past week and a half. Sunday, I found a free sample of Metamucil Fiber Wafers that I had gotten in the mail several weeks ago. I ate one package of the wafers (2 wafers in a package). They taste really good. Monday afternoon, my problem was solved! I was able to go to the bathroom with no problems, no bloating (well I was kind of already bloated from being constipated, but it didn't seem to make the bloating worse), no cramping. Everything seemed to get back to normal. I would highly recommend those little wafers!! , " clkollman21 " <clkollman21 wrote: > > I JUST WANTED TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THE GREAT RECIPES...IVE BEEN A > VEGETARIAN SINCE I WAS 12. Guest guest
you need to add more fiber which are fruits, veggies, and legumes and make sure you drink plenty of water. Cut down on caffeine as caffeine will dehydrate you. Gayle **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. Guest guest
OK.... It is healthy that you have been a vegetarian for that long. However are you making your foods from scratch? Are you eating too much white flour? White rice? How is your caffine intake? That includes " Pepsi " ? These are all constipating foods, ie. they don't allow you to eliminate properly. Change to whole wheat breads, brown rice or barley, and get rid of the coffee, and sodas. Drink lots of water.....that will help you to eliminate your solids better. If you don't like water plain try adding just a little lemon juice or a fruity herbal tea bag. When constipation is a problem .....pick up Traditional Medicinals Smooth Move herbal tea at the health food store. Or you can try Cascara Segrada, it is an herb in capsule form, that will help. Neither of these 2 items are habit forming, nor will they hurt you. Hope this helps Blessings Harmony Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search.
