Guest guest
We have 2 Questions of the Week this week- 1. What are you favorite food gifts to give or recieve? We love to make cookies, cookie bars and fudge to give away. Love to get toffee that one husbands co-workers makes and gives to all that work with him. She won't share her recipes. I love cookbooks, cookies, sweet treats and spiced nuts. and 2. * Please share your vegetarian menu that you are having for Christmas, so we can inspire each other.* I'll need to get out my cookbooks, scan this website and plan this today or tomorrow. Then I will post it. Merry Christmas everyone
Guest guest
To give: Buckeyes, assorted breads, Jingle Bell Truffles (White chocolate truffle with candied cherries, marischino cherries and coconut rolled in coconut), Dark chocolate truffles, Cashew truffles, evil orange slice cookies, Blobs, molasses krinkles, sour cream cookies and bon bon cookies (surprise inside cookie ball, frosted), peppernint bark candy, rice krispie ornaments in crinkle wrap and tied with pretty ribbons and hung on the tree for the kids to help themselves and divinity. (Lots of other candies too, but I am running out of steam.) We made 30 more pounds of Buckeyes last night and the grandson and I were rolling balls and dipping those suckers till 3 AM and we are only half done. The goodies won't make it to Chusan, Korea or Norfolk, VA Naval Base in time for Christmas, but they;ll get there eventually. Food gift to receive: FRUITCAKE!!!!! I LOVE fruitcake, good fruitcake...cannot get enough of it. Pour enough er....preservative...on it, and it'll last months. Oranges, grapefruit, apples, pineapples and whole bean coffee. One of the best Christmas presents we received was 40 pounds of assorted beans and legumes. What a treat that was! Christmas menu - Spinach and Mushroom Lasagna, rich yeast rolls, tossed salad or, if I am worn out from all the cooking that we've done since Thanksgiving and the grandson is still at the other grandparents....egg salad sandwiches. Right now egg salad sandwiches sound like too much work so maybe peanut butter? lol Argh, time to go roll the Jingle Bell Truffles in coconut and maybe collapse on the bed. Love and happy holidays to all, Jeanne in GA Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search.
