Guest guest
Thank you, I did have a good time. The grandchildren and their parents were all glad to see me and the baby rewarded me by learning to walk while I was there! Katie wwjd <jtwigg wrote: Katie, glad to see you back on. Guest guest
What wonderful timing. Babies are precious and so enjoyable to watch how fast they grow, change and make progress. I'm glad you had a fun and memorable visit. Did they have as much snow as you do? Judy - Katie M Friday, December 21, 2007 4:24 PM Re: Katie Thank you, I did have a good time. Guest guest
Los Angeles area, and you?
Guest guest
I am in Anchorage, Alaska. Years ago we couldn't get any fresh produce at all durring the winter and not much durring the summer. Now the major grocery stores get shippments of fresh produce twice a week. I made friends with the produce manager, who is also a vegetarian, and he saves some of his best organic produce for me. It is expensive, though. I order fresh produce and a lot of other organic and vegetarian things from Azure Standard. They truck they stuff all over the west coast for free, but they won't bring it al the way to Alaska. We have to pay freight from Seattle and it is still cheaper that at the grocery stores. I bought 20 pounds of beautiful organic apples for $17.90. I only get a shipment once a month, but at least one week a month we eat well. Katie AlanDawnTyler <alandawntyler wrote: Los Angeles area, and you? Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Guest guest
Katie are you in Deanna's recycled garden group? That would be perfect for you. Go to the homepage on and click on groups and then put in recycled_gardens and it should pop up for you to join. I can't get them in any of the markets or stores here in Anchorage. Does anyone grow their own that I could get a couple seeds from. If any of you recycled gardeners could spare a couple I surely would appreciate it. Katie Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
Katie feel better. I didn't see all of your precious post. Sending you healing thoughts in here Donna Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile " wwjd " <jtwigg Sun, 18 May 2008 15:49:05 To: Re: Katie I'm glad you are back and hope you are feeling better soon. Glad you had someone to help prepare food for you. Isn't it funny how much we can really crave good food, like sauted veggies, when we don't have access to them for even a short while. Hope you are up and able to cook exactly what you want tomorrow. Judy - cozycate @ <%40> Sunday, May 18, 2008 3:29 PM Recipies anyone? I have been offline for the last week so went to no mail. I am back now. I have been flat on my back in bed and depending on friends attampts at vegetarian cooking and things my husband has found in the freezer and tried to reheat. I have eaten a lot of mashed potatoes and bread and am hoping to be able to cook for myself by tomorrow; I could sure use a big plate of sauted vegetables.
