Hi Everyone

I just joined this group this last week. Thank you for allowing me to

join. Over the last year we have been eliminating more and more meat

from our diet and heading towards vegetarian meals. With the start of

the new year upon us is also our start to more vegetarian meals, which

means I need recipes.

My name is Laurie and I have a wonderful husband name Bill and five

children and two grandsons. We just moved to TN from NY in June of

this year. We are located in Ooltewah (Chattanooga) area.

Luckily, my husband is very much into health along with me so this has

been an easy change for us. Our one son who has moved to TN with us

(15 yr. old) at this point is going along with us, however he is

fighting the way a little.

Hope to get to know some of you and can soon share some recipes.

Laurie

We almost bought in Ooltewah. The house was perfect for us, but

everything was 3/4 done and it had the worst color scheme I have ever

seen in the dining room. I was willing to work with all of that, but

we finally pulled out of the deal when we found that the property was

originally much larger and they sold off most of it, but did not

notify nor pay the mortgage company and were now expecting us to pay

off the mortgage. We figured the deeper we got into that house the

more problems we would find because they did not appear to be

particularly straight forward.

So, we bought outside Dayton instead.

Hi Jo-Ann

We are just about neighbors. Glad to meet you and I am loving it in Ooltewah.

Tomorrow afternoon we leave NY to come back to TN and I cannot wait. I am glad

that you have found a house that you are now enjoying. Merry Christmas and

Happy New Year

Hi, Laurie,

I love it here, too. I am glad to meet you. I haven't had chance to

make many friends here yet.

Where in NY? I am a Jersey girl.

Hope you had a great holiday season!

Jo-Ann,

From the Syracuse area. I am leaving today to head back to TN. We had a great

Christmas. The only friends I have so far is my neighbors. Maybe we can meet

up in the near future

Well, you are one up on me. We are a bit away from neighbors, so

have met no one. We also keep some unusual hours, which doesn't help.

I don't think I ever got to the Syracuse area. I did a little

driving through upstate NY when I was younger. I always thought I

would be living in NJ, NY or maybe PA, but more toward New England.

But I loved VA from the first time I saw it and also TN. When my

husband gave me the choice, all things considered, TN seemed the best

choice. It gives me my mountains and my husband has no objections

and not a lot of cold weather.

It would be nice to meet you.

I've lost track of what parts of TN everyone is in, but if you are

around the Nashville area there is a veggie meetup group that gets

together once a month for dinner out or potlucks, etc. Let me know if

you are interested and I'll email you the info.
