Kitchen Aid mixers-FYI

I had a Kitchen Aid Mixer and when I moved several years ago it ended up in

the musty damp basement with out a box or wrapping of any kind. By the time

I realized where it was it was so dirty I would never use it again. I have

not had a mixer for the last 5 years. Today I bought a Sunbeam Heritage Mix

Master, as the Kitchen Aid is just more expensive then I can afford.

I am looking forward to many years of using it as I love to bake.

Kitchen Aid was bought out this year by Whirlpool. You've heard the

rest of the story...'they ain't made they like they used to be'....

Kitchen Aid has a good reputation but since they're not around

anymore, it's going to take some time before people start hearing

about problems with appliances.

Be cautious buying one...make sure it doesn't have plastic parts in it

or you won't have yours lasting as long.

Some of the gals on Finer Kitchens are looking at other mixers just

because of that.

OH Blast!!! I hate when a good, reliable company is bought by another, no matter

the reputation. It usually seems to mean a decline in quality.

Now if I had $1,500 bucks to blow, I'd go for a Hobart. Of course I'd have to

get the husband person to move it, if I needed to move the beast. Thankfully I

bought my current Kitchen Aid artisan about two years ago. (Cobalt blue,

gorgeous!)

Where is the kitchen group? I need to get a new rice cooker (can't afford one

like my old Zojirushi) and food processor. (My old Cuisinart lasted several

decades and the Wolfgang Puck lasted two months.) The grandson wants a griddle

to cook one of his addictions - blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup.

I am sorry to hear that. Kitchen Aid is a very respected company and it won't

be for long.
