Guest guest
That is great. I use Tofurkey Italian sausage in my Italian dishes for potluck and everyone loves it here at work. If only more meat eaters would give these products a try. Donna Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile " Jennifer Hauser " <jennie121095 Thu, 03 Jan 2008 17:35:16 Nice ego boost yesterday, wanted to share. =) I was preparing dinner when my husband's friend stopped by. I was making Italian not dogs w/Yves dogs... This man is NOT a vegetarian, in any sense of the word. But he commented about how good the sauteeing onions, peppers & potatoes smelled. I invited him to stay, and he ate TWO of them!!! I felt really good about myself, but then I told him they were veggie dogs and I prepared myself for the involuntary recoil that non-veg people do when they think of veggie dogs. Amazing - he didn't even bat an eye - he just commented again about how good dinner was. Little happy dance. =)
Guest guest
The alternative products make it very easy for new vegetarians to start off on the veg path easily. The burgers are wonderful if you attend picnics, need a meal in a rush and they are delicious Donna Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile " wwjd " <jtwigg Thu, 3 Jan 2008 15:27:22 To: Re: Nice ego boost yesterday, wanted to share. =) What a nice thing to extend the hospitality of dinner at your home with others. I love the meat substitutes and how much they add to meals and I've never eaten meat. LOL When we have folks over for dinner we often times open the door to folks realizing how wonderful the variety of foods taste, that many have never tried before. Folks can be afraid to spend the money on new things, thinking they won't like them, but when you prepare them, it gives them the opportunity to try them and see how they taste in different recipes. Guest guest
I have not yet tried the Tofurkey sausages, albeit I have been eying them for a while. I think I'm going to have to try some now! =) , thelilacflower wrote: > > That is great. Guest guest
Wow, your post is making me even more proud of my accomplishment! =) You are right, though; the meat substitutes make it SO easy for me to make more " mainstream " dinners as well as to kind of open up the door to the HUGE variety of foods and flavors you can create in a vegetarian kitchen! It has almost become a mantra that yes! I do eat more than side orders of veggies and rice! And, although I know that a fabulous veg meal isn't going to instantly convert someone to vegetarianism, at least it gives me satisfaction to know that *maybe* that meal opened their minds to healthier possibilities, and that *maybe* they'll dine with us again!!! =) , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > What a nice thing to extend the hospitality of dinner at your home with others. Guest guest
These meat substitutes have made it easier for my children to assimilate, as well! We can go to bbq's and have hot " dogs " , and " burgers " , and my kids eat " chicken " nuggets " ...=) , thelilacflower wrote: > > The alternative products make it very easy for new vegetarians to start off on the veg path easily. > The burgers are wonderful if you attend picnics, need a meal in a rush and they are delicious > Donna > Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile > > > " wwjd " <jtwigg > > Thu, 3 Jan 2008 15:27:22 > To: > Re: Nice ego boost yesterday, wanted to share. =) > > > What a nice thing to extend the hospitality of dinner at your home with others.
