Those of you who are homeschooling and use nature study as a topic for science may want to get involved in this board. My daughter and I have been journaling nature for a while. The message board will have monthly topics to study and journal. All those involved will of course need a journal. It can be a simple sketch pad or a bound journal. There are beautiful journals designed for homeschoolers (and their parents) available at: http://www.pxpprint ing.com/nature. shtml I ordered these when nature study courses were offered at our homeschool support group. We are learning so much about the phases of the moon . I am writing " moon poetry " and together we are journaling weather, nature and mood changes while observing our world around us. I bought my " journal " at the dollar store. I also keep a garden/plant journal and a " cooks journal " . I can save all the wonderful recipes and ideas from this group in my beautifully illustrated " Cooks Journal " that I bought at a thrift store for less than $2. I also carry a smaller size 'wild plants and critters' journal on nature walks. My daughter and I took a road trip to California last year and kept a daily journal. We passed up the freeways and took regular highways and saw some amazing scenery. It is so much fun to look back at our entries and relive our trip together. Come join us at the nature study board...I love looking back at my own nature journal. A little late,.....When you live in the north and the snow is unpredicitable it is hard to travel when you really want to. the nature study board is... www./groups/naturestudyandjournaling I think the schedule will stare the first full week of February.
