Guest guest
Here's my recipe. I'm proud it made it to the Woodstock site. It is delicious. You can try this with your baked apples or as a great snack. Donna http://www.woodstockpreservation.org/Granola1.htm " Sunshine Happy Hippie Granola " Recipe Courtesy of Donna / 3 cups rolled oats 1 cup slivered almonds 1 cup cashews or walnuts or pecans 1/2 cup shredded coconut 1/4 sunflower seeds 1/4 cup (packed extra full and a little above the top) of dark brown sugar 1/4 cup maple syrup (very full 1/4 cup) 1/4 cup canola oil two pinches of salt 1 cup raisins (I love the golden raisins but dark are fine too) Preheat oven to 250 degrees. In a large bowl combine oats, nuts, coconut and brown sugar. Mix well. In a separate bowl combine maple syrup, oil and salt, add this to the oat mixture and stir until thoroughly blended. Pour onto two cookie sheets. Bake for about 75 minutes (stir every 15 minutes for an even color). Remove from oven and place in large bowl and mix raisins in. I was making this back in ’69 and still making it now. I used to pack it up and it went along to Big Sur with all of us. We ate it for breakfast, as a snack in trails, dry or with soy milk. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have over the years. Now my niece makes it and she adds dried cranberries to hers, and my married nephew taught his wife how to make it for their daily breakfast. He adds cinnamon to his. It's wonderful as an ice cream topper too. Peace, Donna ______________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
This recipe is my favorite granola, I made it soon after I joined the groiup. I don't care for the boxed type and had no idea I could make my own until you posted this recipe. Thank you once again, Chico - In , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > Here's my recipe.
