Guest guest
I'm also Donna in Los Angeles yikes confusing lol Donna (one) Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Donna Ellis <tupelopm Sat, 19 Jan 2008 09:25:16 Thank You Group + Questions Local and Mushroom-hunting Dear Group: Thank you for the wonderful welcome and the great information, list of herbs/spices and great recipes - spicy or not. Chatting with you off-list, realized that I've gotten very used to our local farmers who supply the southern California weekly markets. Many of you are in cold weather right now. Let me take this opportunity to apologize for that tiny world view and while I'm at it also give thanks for what our local farmers provide. Does anyone know of a group that discusses 'locavore' or community supported agriculture movements? I'd like to have their group link or name. Of those of use in So. California, do any of you go mushroom hunting? I understand from a local mycologist that they now fine people who hunt for local mushrooms in the Santa Monica mountains. He has also left the mycology scene for the moment because he has a small child. What a great group. I look forward to contributing and learning here. Guest guest
Hi I am in the San Diego County area near Fallbrook. We have lots of local farmers. Every week there are street markets in different cities. Very good and cost healthy also. Guest guest
Hi Donna from Los Angeles #2....I would be interested in mushroom hunting, I have done it in Europe, with people that can tell the poisonous ones apart. I would also be interested in links for local agriculture. We grow enough food in the garden to supply the household with veggies 9 mo in the year, but I am also thankful for the local markets! I like the one in south pasadena thursday night, they have the best tamales! cabrita @ los angeles , Donna Ellis <tupelopm wrote: > > Dear Group: > > Thank you for the wonderful welcome and the great > information, list of herbs/spices and great recipes - > spicy or not. I'll send you the market link tonight offlist, unless other SoCal folk are interested. Guest guest
Donna, I live in two places right now. One is Altadena (north of Pasadena) and the other one is Highland park in north east LA. Yes we could get together of course. Also, it seems there are enough folks in Southern California we could even do some veggie restaurant outings together. cabrita @ los angeles (and Altadena) , tupelo <tupelopm wrote: > > Cabrita, > What part of LA are you in?
