Guest guest
How sweet, are you going to keep them or find them new homes after you give them good love and nurse them back to good health? Taz will hardly let me get dressed for work. Then she sits with a pile of toys in front of the back door hoping I will stay home. Since it's pouring rain I feel tempted. Guest guest
Monk puts a dead mouse in my shoe in hopes that I will stay home. The rest get in front of the door and try to keep me from opening it. They are in for Kentucky Pug Rescue. They are older 14 and 11, father and son. Not many want an older dog. I am fostering for them. If someone wants them, fine, if they check out. If not, they will live happily right here. Guest guest
Good for you for taking in those old boys, Marilyn. For many years I have taken in older dogs and special needs dogs who are dumped just when they most need their family. I love nursing an old dog or an old person and have done a lot of this in my life. All they want is a warm bed, a full tummy, and some love while they live out their last years. My little Chiquita lived to be very old and for several years I kept a hot water bottle in her little bed to keep her comfy. She was such a little dear. I took her and her younger dog friend because rescue wanted to keep them together. They had been together since Finley was a little baby and he was very dependent on her. The people who turned them in to Animal Care & Control because they got a new house and put in white rugs and didn't want the dogs to dirty it up. Good grief! People just make me sick sometimes. Anyway, the old Chiquita passed last year and Finley is fine because he transferred his adoration to another dog in the pack named Rowdy Rosie Bailey. It is such a dear story how that happened but, alas, too long for now. I always told my children that when they were ready to look for a mate to just observe how that person behaves toward lesser creatures and they would know everything they need to know about his character. Worked great! They both married well, gave me beautiful grandchildren and plenty of Grandpets to boot. Zelda They are in for Kentucky Pug Rescue. They are older 14 and 11, father and son. Not many want an older dog. I am fostering for them. If someone wants them, fine, if they check out. If not, they will live happily right here. Marilyn Daub !!! Guest guest
I loved this e-mail. I totally agree with everything you said. Animals are a subject dear to my heart. I have rescued Greyhounds, strays of every kind including horses.I have a Basenji now that was left in a crate which was had 3 or four other crates piled on top. For 2 years they were never taken out or touched or loved and barely fed. It has taken 2 yrs to earn her trust. She is my baby now, and very happy. People make me sick! I am sometimes ashamed to be part of the human race! If we all were like my dogs, this world would be the right kind of place. They love unconditionally, forgive and forget, don't care what you weigh or how you look..they just love! I have 4 dogs, 1 parrot, 4 horses, and 2 cats! I love them all!
