Guest guest
thanks for all the dissection advice. it *is* a little late for me, and i have a lab partner who doesn't mind doing dissections, (and my other lab partner is well on her way to giving up meat...heh heh heh...) but i'll pass on you ideas to my underclassmen friends who object too. thanks a bunch! ~~Betz How mad would a wood chuck get if a big neon pink Koala bear named Ishtar ran into the woods and chucked all the wood before the woodchuck could? ___________ Free email with personality! Guest guest
I have been reading the letters about animals and I thought I would jump in with just a little of my history. Quite a few years ago I was having a bad time with depression and went to see a therapist. After seeing her for a while she told me that I should go to some place and donate my time reading to children. At that particular time I wanted nothing to do with adults or children so I went to out local SPCA and donated my time there and fell in love. Up til that time I was terrified of cats but someone brought in a reddish female who was in terrible condition and she was to be put down the next morning. She was covered with blood and scabs and had only three legs. Strangely I fell in love with her and asked if I could bring her home. I gave her her shots and brought her home (she had been spayed some time earlier0 That was the start of my cats. She has been with me for years now and has two brothers and one sister, all rescued. I've always had dogs since I was divorced and have some still, two actually. Both rescued. jeanne in ny
Guest guest
I think people who take in rescue animals are wonderful. I have an 11 year old long haird daschund X that i took in 6 years ago. Am always on the lookout for more. Most of the time I find homes for the ones I do take, have had about 6 more since getting the first one. Barb
Guest guest
Ohhhh, Jeanne.... What a great story...! There's nothing more comforting than a purring cat on your lap or at your side... I much prefer animals to people, too....grin....! And the one thing I've found is that one cat....leads to another and another and...well, you get the idea! And a couple of dogs just to balance things out.... Guest guest
Thank you for that wonderful story. I'm glad you found that particular cats. One of my favorite stories was from a guy we adopted a cat to. He had grown up not liking cats. He said he really didn't know why but just didn't like them. One night walking home from work in the pouring rain he heard a kitten crying in a ditch. Although he didn't like cats he knew it would drown before mornings. Just a little kitten probably about 6 weeks. So he picker her up and put her in his jacket to get warm. She started purring and snuggling and by the time he got home he was a cat person! The cat he adopted from us was going to a house that had 4 (including the first one that was fairly old by then). At five weeks the kittens should be well on their way to eating on their own I would definitely advise against giving the kitten baby formula...this is meant for human babies, not for cats.
