Edible? radish tops? and other tops, too!

I always have radishes in the garden, and throw the greens in with any greens I

am braising.

In fact - I use the tops or greens from almost everything in the garden. The

beets, radish,

turnip greens I usually sautee with a little onion a splash of veggie broth and

a dash of

vinegar. Lately I've been adding the tender leaves from my snow peas into the

salad - they

have a wonderful flavor. I also chop the carrot tops into the salad - I

particularly like those. I

haven't yet tried the tomato leaves or the green bean leaves, but maybe in the

summer I will!

Nasturtium grows wild around my garden, so those leaves and flowers turn up in

the salad a

lot, too.

Don't eat the tomato leaves. They are poisonous to humans.

<I haven't yet tried the tomato leaves>

I 'think' I read that any foliage from the night shade family is poisonous.

Tomato leaves, potato leaves, and I think tobacco is in there too. Can

someone verify this?

For sure, for sure, do not eat tomato leaves. Not only are they poisonous if

eaten, they are poisonous by contact with the skin. If you raise tomaot plants,

like I do, you quicky learn to wear long sleved shirts and wash your hands after

contact. Something in them is absorbed through the skin if not washed off

promptly.
