If you use vanilla flavored it will be sweetened as

well and then you would have to adjust the maple syrup

by reducing it and then batter might be off a little

in consistency. I would either use milk or unflavored

unsweetened soy milk. You can give it a try. The

recipe is a keeper, you will enjoy it!

The seed is in bloom, will it meet an early doom

or survive in a tranquil sea?

Does it face an early end, will it find a real friend,

should it be called humanity?

Will creation of man bring death by his hand

or will life be his destiny?

The Seed - Rare Earth

Oh that cornbread is so addictive. We've already made two Iron skillets of

it......... in 3 days. It truely is the BEST I've ever eaten before too.

Can't stay out of it..... I'm glad you enjoyed it Donna.... Thanks for the

review........ of this recipe and for recommending the cookbook. I just

love this cookbook.... Over 200 recipes in it....... Now I just need to get to

Sam's Club where I can buy some more Stone ground Yellow Cornmeal....... Can

you believe that here in the SE USA, that I can only find Cornmeal Mix in our

grocery stores.. ?

Love the stories about each recipe in the cookbook..........

Vermont Maple Sweetened Cornbread review

Judy posted the recipe a few days ago from the

Cornbread Gospels by Crescent Dragonwagon. This is

the best cornbread I have ever eaten. I'm ready to

have more with my lunch. I sub. the milk with

unsweetened soy milk because I never have any milk on

hand.

Any Yellow Cornmeal will work, just not Cornmeal mix.
