Guest guest
Hello! I've been in this group for some time and rarely post, being busy with work and school and family. I do read the posts here and that you for being both entertaining and informative. I've been a vegan since Jan 1, 2005 and I just feel healthier these days. I've been a vegetarian for 7 years, but I never realized how much dairy I ate! Whoa. What a realization. Anyway...I am writing a research paper and presentation for my business class on " The Ethics of the Meat Industry, " though realistically I'm really talking about the lack of ethics. If anyone has info that you believe I should include, please feel feel to post it or email it to me privately. And in case you are wondering, no...I am not trying to get you to do my work ;-) I just want to make sure that with what I have, I've not left out important, interesting, or less known facts. Thanks to anyone with an input! Best always, Heather
Guest guest
hi heather, just a little opinion of mine. the most appalling thing to me about the meat industry is that they try to do what hunters do. they de-personalized the chicken for example, the call her " the product " like a hunter calls a deer " game " these de-personalization or de-humanization if you will is a trick that they play in their minds to fool themselves and live in denial that their " product " is actually a live sentient being. The euphamisms, like veal, beef, steak, etc. really annoy me. they can't just say. I AM EATING A PIG AND A COW. another thing that pisses me off is how they are always cleverly deceiving the public about all their vitamins like calcium and protein and promoting dairy and meat as health food. when in reality these " foods " are so bad for you. another deceitful thing is that in the Adds or commercials on TV and magazines... chickens and cows are always cute and happy. dancing chicken cartoons or joking cows, smiling in fields. they never show the cages or the blood. -anouk , " heatherumberger " <heatherumberger wrote: > business class on " The Ethics of the Meat Industry, " though > realistically I'm really talking about the lack of ethics. > > If anyone has info that you believe I should include, please feel feel > to post it or email it to me privately. > > And in case you are wondering, no...I am not trying to get you to do > my work ;-) I just want to make sure that with what I have, I've not > left out important, interesting, or less known facts. > > Thanks to anyone with an input! > > Best always, > > Heather >
