also, besides marigold..you can try to companion plant with

Black salsify, cilantro(coriander) , onions, garlics, and chives, pennyroyal,

rosemary, sage.....

I agree, any of the aliums would be good at masking the smell of the carrots, and also some of the herbs - best stick with the anual ones rather than rosemary or sage as they are easier to grow although sage is easy from seed, both are slower from seed than anuals.. I think I'll go with the alium for various reasons.

We did have a tiny one here about four years ago. It woke me and my

daughter up, but Colin and Peter slept through it. It was strange!

Well ... what's a little frost in comparison to an earthquake.

in my town everything is dying,

because it has not rained here for three months, maybe longer.

the sun is everlasting and scorching and I have to water

everything every single day.

we are doing an indian rain dance because all of the creeks are

dried up and animals have no water.

it is in the 80's, and gets cooler at nights.

Wow, that is so sad - still cold and wet here. My town is dying through lack of investment, like a lot of South Wales towns. Our last big shop ( small supermarket ) is closing soon, nearly a third of our shops are empty/closed down, very sad when I think back to how it was when I was young..........
