Guest guest Posted February 16, 2006 Report Share Posted February 16, 2006 so...we had our eye on a warehouse in downtown oakland large space...fenced off...sky lights, huge ceilings...looked great guy originally told us it was $1800/month holy crap we thought..thats perfect... great place to move to, put on shows, get a roof top garden going, and another in the back... urban homestead with an option to buy in 2 yrs.... for the last week, been playing phone tag finally today...find out.. he was thinking of the wrong property.. that one is $5600/month ah poo there goes that dream................ fraggle " NOTICE: Due to Presidential Executive Orders, the National Security Agency may have read this email without warning, warrant, or notice. Artist's, as you know, will live in those environments, then after they move in and make it "fun", others come. We always had a good time going to MOCA and checking out galleries on a Saturday night and riding our bicycles in the downtown area. Totally fun. Then the "revitalization" took place, and all those cheap lofts suddenly became $400,000 and up apartments. Crappy lofts that were once $350 dollars a month became $1,00-2,000. Amazing. All the artist's know their time is up. Sad because once they go, the charm of the area will go as well and they'll be left with a bunch of lawyers.
