depending on which survey you follow...

there are between 4.6 and 11 billion barrels of oil under ANWR

useing the most optimistic administration figuers(everything is extractable, its

high crude, its easy to get to, and there's a s much as the highest

expectation)...at current usage rate.....11-13 months worth of oil

most estimates are around 6-8 months of oil

(the US consumes about 20 million barrels a day)

this oil would take about a decade to come to market....

(have to build an infrastructure)

assuming that there's a much as is hoped for,

the new pipelines and dereks don't collapse under melting permafrost,

it just doesn't leak out all over the place

etc

at the loss of a unique and vanishing natural heritage.....

6 months of oil

hmmm....

like t orun out and buy that SUV now?

The above is all that counts. Rest is immaterial. Thanks for the reminder.
