Guest guest Posted April 7, 2006 Report Share Posted April 7, 2006 Nikki Sudden was born in London on July 19, 1956. He began playing guitar after hearing T.Rex near the end of 1971. Together with his brother, Epic Soundtracks, he formed what was to become Swell Maps. The Maps released 4 singles and 2 albums between 1977 and their break up in 1980. All of these releases hit the top slot in the Independent Charts. Nikki came back to the place he was staying in New York after his final concert after the others had gone to bed. He sat at a table reading a book and that is how he was found the next morning. The initial autopsy conducted in New York revealed that he had a slightly enlarged heart. The tribute gig will take place on Friday the 21st July 2006 at The Dirty Water Club, Tufnell Park in London - visit the Dirty Water Club website for a map and further details.A Thanksgiving Service for the life of Nikki Sudden will be held at 12.30pm on Wednesday 19th April at the Baptist Church, Chandos Street, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England. Everybody is most welcome to attend and it will give us the opportunity to meet and thank you personally for all your love and support during this very difficult time.
