A fellow vegan animal lover alerted me to the list at

www.caringconsumer.com in order to help me avoid using cosmetics and

products where the companies that make them DO test on animals.

The list read like the former INDex of SAcriligious Books --theres

so much that now has to be avoided, supermarket products about which

oeven an animal-aware person may not think (most " beginer " vegans

think in terms of FOOD and sometimes clothing, but cosmetics and even

toothpaste often slip one's mind.

1) Can somebody tell me of a good, commonly marketed TOOTHPASTE that

is vegan-acceptable. Crest, Colgate. Mentadent and Pearl Drops, I

have so far discovered, are OUT but is PEPSODENT or SENSODYNE ok?

(when replying, try to think of well known brands that can be

purchased relatively easily at stores like Walmart, Publix, Winn

Dixie Albertsons or CVS--I am in FLORIDA-- and am trying (as much as

I can) to buy locally so as to avoid delay and extra shipping expense

involved in mail order

2) With horor I found that Kleenex and Cottonelle , also Scott

BATHROOM tissue are made by companies that test on animals. The town

where I live in is the dust capital of the world )smile) so I do use

a lot of Kleenex and cotton puffs when wash my face with lotions (

and of course Im paying attention that these liquids are vegan --

ALMAY and MERLE NORMAN--)so

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME THE NAME AND WHERE TO BUY VEGAN FACE TISSUES

SIMILAR TO KLEENEX< VEGAN COSMETIC PUFFS, AND__I M P O R T A N T__

VEGAN BATHROOM TISSUE I fel a bit awkward about asking re the latter,

but it is a necessity and at the same time I want to " really do it

right " --keep vegan with as much care and zeal a my Orth Jewish

friends keep kosher and I respect them for it. Thanks Corinna

cor390 (The " reward " will be info about brand new veggie

oriented reading matter and how to get a little known vegan taste

treat

I would avoid all the main well known ones, and go for ones from health

shops - read the labels to check that they are vegan.
