Guest guest
Are you in nursing school? I used to know a couple people in nursing school and they always just wore Keds-they're cheap and most are made with man-made materials and many are available in plain or neutral colors, which was a requirement for them. -Katie , " If you know it, I respect you! Guest guest
Thanks guys! Not in nursing school yet, although I graduate from Medical Assistance school in Feb. I'm a phlebotomist in the mean time. Respectfully, Dolo , " budgiegirl2003 " <budgiegirl2003> wrote: > Are you in nursing school? My sister fainted when she had her ears pierced (scared the bejeezus out of the ladies doing the piercing), and also when she had some warts frozen off.... Guest guest
sounds familiar...i've fainted 13+ times in my life, all between the ages of 13 and 18, the first time when a doctor was talking about the procedure to take warts off, another when i got my ear cartlidge pierced, a few times to due heat (lived in the south) and lack of fuel, and the last time when a jerk TA I had took us out in negative degree weather without warning us in advance to wear appropriate clothing and then brought us back into a superheated room...the temperature difference so sudden just through my body off. In those 5 years I also wasnt eating so well...drank a lot of caffiene, ate a lot of junk food, etc. Have been fine ever since though! Gotten light headed a few times but always been able to stay conscious. Wish I were able to give blood but I don't meet the weight requirement (100 or 110 depending on area). One day though! -Katie , " Amy " <sandpiperhiker> wrote: > > A lot of people faint when giving blood. Guest guest
This is going to appear disjointed and somewhat out of date because I have been too upset to deal with it until just now. People who know me from this list know that I have a tendency to get IRATE. I live in Frederick, MD. It is the home of Fort Detrick Military Installation, from the folks who brought you the anthrax mail scare and Ebola virus contamination in one of their labs, with cross-contamination and I don’t know what all. The hometown newspaper, Frederick News-Post, has been running a series on a series of “accidents” that have happened in the handling of infected animals and germ/virus contamination. They listed these “accidents” one by one in a historical timeline. I had to quit reading when the article said something like: 1. A lab worker was bitten by an Ebola infected monkey. A report was compiled on the incident, and improved procedures were established for strapping and securing infected animals to examination tables. Well. I cannot even comment on this. Words fail me. If anyone is interested in the series, just go to Frederick News-Post online, and search Ft. Detrick in the archives. Cynthia
