Guest guest
Road to Wellville grindlinefan [veggiewriter2] Tuesday, August 10, 2004 1:29 PM movies Hello, I am compiling a list of movies that have vegetarianism in them (such as About A Boy and My Big Fat Greek Wedding). Or supports a vegetarian message (like Babe and Chicken Run). If you know of any would you mind e-mailing them to me offlist? Thank you! Guest guest
To clear up any confusion about the movies...The list of movies was not intended to be just movies that promoted vegetarianism. I was putting together a list of movies that either had a vegetarian message (such as in Babe) or had a vegetarian character. Many of them listed have a vegetarian character in the movie. For example, in About A Boy the mother and the boy are both vegetarians and it is well known throughout the movie. On Thanksgiving they have a nut loaf. Here are some other movies that I have come up with (most that have a vegetarian character): Notting Hill, Finding Nemo, Doc Hollywood, The Contender (the lead character is a vegetarian and someone tries to get her to eat steak), Legally Blonde, Pulp Fiction, Sweet November, Shark Tale, Ice Age (there is a line where they say it's hard to get fat on a vegan diet), Charlotte’s Web, American Splendor, 12 Monkey’s (promotes animal rights), Road to Wellville... There is also a website I found that has some.... http://www.geocities.com/patrickhat2000/veggiesinfilms.html Jacqueline
Guest guest
" Gosford Park " was recently on A & E, and the American guest -- a film director -- is a vegetarian. Not a children's movie, by any stretch of the imagination, but I did enjoy the line about how the staff wasn't to make a fuss about it, because the British hostess didn't want to appear unsophisticated.
