In reply to your other post I have scone recipes but sadly not one that I have ever made successfully - mine always end up flat and biscuit(cookie)-like. Guest guest
Christie, I think sends your emails through late. I figured the time to be about 2or 3 am and I thought maybe you gget up really early before work and get on the computer first thing. Your scones ......... LOL I have made plenty of muffins that end up with the texture of a sponge. I know what you mean. My ex coworker from Scotland used to make the best scones but I never got her recipe. She used to make vegetarian pasties (little dinner pies and did I spell that correctly) for me also. She would fill them with cooked carrots and potatoes. Do you make those? Guest guest
Potatoes and other root vegetables are fairly cheap and brassicas also at this time of year because these are things that are growing here. I actualy managed to find some kale last week which I haven't seen for a while. Much of our food here is shipped in, especially in the winter - for example the chillies in my fridge come from India and the green beans are from Kenya in Africa so I guess it costs a lot to transport them here. We have access to a big variety of fruit and veggies here but they can be quite expensive. Hope this satisfies your curiosity, LOL Christie :-) , jeff <flashback_lunchbox wrote: > > I was wondering what vegetables you have an abundance > of for a good price all the way over in Scotland. > > Curious Minded Jeff
