Guest guest
Yeah, I have a few going on around here on the weekends which are great I definitely enjoy going, even if I am not buying anything. Shockingly the cheapest fruit and veggies I have found has been through my organic produce delivery people. farmers markets, planetorganics, and trader joes are the primary place I buy our edibles. Cheers, Scott reptile grrl [reptilegoddess] Thursday, March 04, 2004 11:18 AM Farmer's markets Does anyone else here shop at farmer's markets? I visit mine every few weeks to stock up on vegetables. Fresh produce is always cheaper at the farmer's market, and the shopping experience is, imo, a lot more fun and involving. If there is a farmer's market in your town, check it out! Guest guest
Here in Grants Pass, OR we have a nice outdoor farmer's market that runs from early May until mid November on saturdays in a parking lot downtown. There is also a nice indoor market open every day across town full of fresh local produce and organic veggies; they have bulk bins and good healthfood type stuff as well. They don't even look at me funny for using my canvas shopping bags to pack my groceries like the big grocery chainstore clerks sometimes do. *lol* My " hippy " ways blend right in! ~ PT ~ Love is drawn to love. ~ Welsh proverb ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~> , reptile grrl <reptilegoddess> wrote: > Does anyone else here shop at farmer's markets? Guest guest
I wish we had a Trader Joes near us! I went to one when we were down in California on vacation last summer and I loved it. I even bought one of their nice canvas shopping bags and use it to tote my others when I go shopping to pack my food and other items in. The closest one to us is way up in Eugene, OR. and that is quite a hike... been tempted to make the trip lately though! ~ PT ~ Man's extremity is God's opportunity. ~ Scottish proverb ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~> , " Scott Turner " <sturner@t...> wrote: > farmers markets, planetorganics, and trader joes are the primary place I buy our edibles. > > Cheers, > Scott >

Guest guest
Portland, OR has many Farmers' Markets around town. I have volunteered with the Portland Farmers' Market (www.portlandfarmersmarket.org) for 11 years. For the past three years, I have offered monthly tastings of what's in season. It's been a lot of fun. The PFM goes from the first weekend in May to Thanksgiving every Saturday, and during the Summer months they have a Wednesday day market and Thursday evening market. I started volunteering two years after it started and it's been wonderful to see how it's grown. We have well over 70 vendors on a weekly basis; but allow no crafts at all. It's all about food! I definitely go into fresh food withdrawal during the Winter months. I can't wait until May. But, in the meantime, Asparagus season is almost upon us! Guest guest
We have a Farmer's Market in Ann Arbor. To me it seems like a place to be 'seen'. I don't go often. There is a BIG market near Detroit called Eastern Market, they are apparently the big supplier for a lot of restaurants. If you go you're supposed to go at like 4am for best selection. We haven't been in ages....I'd like to go soon. I think its every day. Amy Credi in te stesso Believe in yourself **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living.
