Guest guest
Thanks for the juicer brands and clean up ideas. I loved the soapy sink idea. In the past, I only have juiced for each drinking. HOW LONG can you keep the juice and still have the good results of a fresh juicing? Also, when I see the beets at the store and the water spray that shoots on them, I think I see fungus growing on the tops. Maybe this is just dirt. I know the produce I am buying is organic, but I get way grossed out thinking about all the people before handling the vegetables that I am not going to cook and am trying to use to boost my immune system. If they have been handled a ton then aren't I getting everyone's hand germs even if I wash them some? I took the beets and dropped them into boiling water for two minutes. I probably didn't need to do this, but it made me feel better. Julie

Guest guest
the more inferior the juicer the shorter lifespan the juice has. IF your juicer is known to 'heat up' but using knives as blades instead of crushing ( or a centrifical juicer) you must drink your juice right away. I understand that the Norwalk and Green Star have a 48 shelf span in the frig. But of course , NOTHING beats it fresh out of the press. Also in regards to mold and handling etc of greens....do a google on H20....hydrogen perioxide for rinsing your produce. I add a couple of drops of 35% H20 to my water. You can see it bubble and it's killing any germs or mold. I was just reading about this today in regards to making sure there is no mold on sprouts. They recommend a quick soak in H20 water. If you drop your beets in boiling water you are killing the live enzymes, which in turn, IMO, defeats the purpose of juicing in the first place....
