Hi,

I am interested in getting Stevia but can only find it on line. I'd like to

find out if anyone has tried it and can recommend one brand or type over

another. Thanks.

I like the stevia sold by Wisdom Herb (www.wisdomherb.com) and they

sell it in a variety of forms.

I would recommend that you contact them and ask for samples and where

you can purchase their product locally. I used to carry their

products in my practice and my clients loved their information packets

and recipes.

When I dealt with Wisdom Herb they were always very accomodating and

extremely knowlegable about their product and loved to share what they

knew and would even refer my clients to resources outside of their

company for help and information. I was one of their smallest clients

but never felt like it, they always treated me and my staff with the

greatest courtesy and respect.

As you may know stevia is a different kind of sweet, and unlike sugar

or honey it does not fill your mouth with that slick texture that many

find comforting. If that texture of sweet slickness is important to

you, I would recommend the stevia with fiber combo.

It is a no calorie sweetener made from an herb. Sweetleaf is a major brand of

it.

It is used as a supplement for FDA reasons from what I have read it is very very

sweet.

Comes powdered and in liquid form.

You can grow it also and get it at your local garden center. I am not sure how

you use it as the plant other than to put a leaf in your tea or something.

I am new to learning about it also.

Same for Swerve that is also a sugar substitute but natural.

Stevia is not a " no calorie sweetener made from an herb " . Stevia IS an

herb. Its natural properties are so much sweeter than sugar and you need so

little to impart the sweet taste, it does not add calories.

You may use the leaves. You may pour boiling water over the leaves and use

the liquid as a sweetener. Or, you may buy stevia in either powder or

liquid form in the supplement section of your local store.

Swerve is not a natural sweetener. It is a highly processed chemical like

Splenda. It is not in a natural form.

I hope this information is helpful.
