Is the body plastic on yours?

I have this Waring U.S. made and I love this blender.

It's a brushed stainless steel and the container is

thick glass and it grinds up

everything.http://www.cooking.com/products/shprodde.asp?SKU=103921 & ar=1

I had never seen a Vita-Mix blender before this afternoon when I was shopping

at Sam's Club and there was a demo for this blender. Lots of people

watching. I did hear someone ask about the recipe book and they were told

Vita-Mix

sold them for $50.

I just bit the bullet today and bought a new Vita Mix...cause I am also finding

that my cuisenart blender ( and it's been a good one) just can't handle seeds

and grains.

right now, Vita Mix is offering a " pay over three months dea " which made buying

a $500 blender a little easier to swallow.

but those who have used one, swear by them

Hello,

My Waring Pro blender of three years is slowly breaking apart, and I will need

to replace it soon. It has a plastic cover on top of the motor which cracked and

now half of it broke off. Grr! These blenders are made with too many plastic

pieces that easily break. Anyhoo, I am in search of a new blender... I make

fruit smoothies every day for breakfast, so I need something that is built to

withstand everyday use...and will last!

Any recommendations for a well-made and good blender??

Hi! I'm new here and enjoying everyone's posts and recipees immensely. Just had

to answer this one. We spent years reading about the Vita-Mix blender and

debating if we should spend so much money on one. Now, after owning one for over

10 years, we couldn't do without it. I make smoothies every morning, lots of

soups, and even " liquid salads " . Also tofu puddings, tofu whipped cream and too

many other yummy concoctions to mention. The motor is SO powerful, and it is so

easy to clean. I would recommend it to anyone.

Hey Folks,

I'm somewhat new here. I owned a coffeehouse for years and I would

highly recomend the Vita-mix blender. We used sveral brands of

blenders and none of them held up like the Vita-mix does. We have two

of them and they are used to make about fifty smoothies a day. The

only problem we have ever had with them is the bearing would

occasionally wear out on the bottom of the pitcher. These are easily

unscrewed and replaced. The cost is high, but well worth it.

Peace,

Rich

I bought a VitaMix about 2-3 weeks ago and really like it. True, it

was very expensive, but it cuts through anything and does a terrific

job of making fruit smoothies (which I also make everyday). I've also

heard good things about the BlendTec blender.
