Guest guest
And the Vita-Mix is one the strongest most durable machines out there. If you look at Smoothie bars, they have a Vita-Mix. Makes the smoothie smoothies out of fresh and frozen fruit with a little liquid added. Best customer service EVER! Lots of great recipes on their website too. I love to puree certain soup recipes into a wonderful creamy soup.... I gave away my regular blender.. Make your own refried dry bean powder........ using dried pinto beans......... grind in the Vita Mix and then add to water and cook on stove, adding seasonings of choice.. It grinds grains, turns sugar into powdered sugar, and far more. One of the best investments we ever made. Here is their website. Watch a demonistration and look at their recipe area. http://www.vita-mix.com/ Judy - wwjd Sunday, February 24, 2008 8:25 AM Re: Blender Recommendations When you buy a Vita Mix it comes with the cookbook included. Guest guest
Yes, I have to echo this. When I first heard about a Vitamix (from Judy, no less) and then heard the price, I thought _no way_!!! I thought that was a ludicrous price for a BLENDER. Then I needed make drastic changes to my health and I wanted to make green smoothies which require a very strong blender. I bought a Vitamix, gave my cheapie blender away, and never looked back. If my house burned down and I had to replace everything, a Vitamix would be one of the first things I'd replace. I use it every day, mostly to make green smoothies, but also to puree soups, make flour (I grind barley to make barley flour), make spice powders, and frozen " ice cream " desserts (throw in frozen fruit, a tiny bit of liquid, some vanilla or a date and, voila). I am on the Vitamix and, over and over, am impressed by their excellent customer service. In fact, Vitamix also sells non-stick cookware that looks very impressive. But it costs a LOT of money, so I've never tried it. But I thought of it yesterday when I read the " Honestly " thread. Guest guest
Thanks so much to everyone who responded with their recommendations for the Vita Mix. I just spoke with a friend who also recommended the high-end Blendtec Blender. Geez, these commercial quality blenders aren't cheap!! Well, it looks like I now have two very good (and expensive) blenders to consider. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Everytime I close the door on reality it comes in through the windows. - Jennifer Unlimited Never miss a thing. Guest guest
Hi Susan, I wanted to let you know about a Vita Mix . One of the moderators owns both a Blendtec and a Vita Mix. You can ask him what he likes about each one and differences between them. Here is the group. I'm a member on it also. vitamix-users/ Judy - Sweet Susan Sunday, February 24, 2008 4:40 PM Re: Blender Recommendations - Vita Mix Thanks so much to everyone who responded with their recommendations for the Vita Mix.
