Guest guest
Greetings. Well, I am serious about becoming a vegetarian, so I am seeking some advice. This is my first week of slowly breaking myself away from eating meat. How should I plan my meals or lunches? Should I go 2-3 days without eating meat or just limit my intake of meat? My main thing is, where do I start?
Guest guest
My advise is to : Go to our recipe files on our home page and print off recipes that you want to try each day. Then make up your vegetarian menu for each day of the week. Just take the plunge and go vegetarian all the way. Use some of the meat substitutes to recreate your recipe favorites. You're on a wonderful new adventure and there is a delicious variety in foods and recipes to use those in. You'll excite your taste buds and make life so much more fun. Start experimenting and cooking.......You'll find a treat awaits you. Judy - Kenny Sunday, February 24, 2008 7:58 PM First week Greetings. Guest guest
Hi Kenny, How you go about it is up to you. Just stopping abruptly may be easiest because it will force you to consider alternative choices. though gradual may be best if it is really difficult for you giving up meat. If that is the case, I would reccomend trying lots of meat substitutes, such as Boca burgers, meat sandwich substitues, meat breakfast patties, chicken substitutes, etc. Most can be found at any grocery store. Then I would start trying some of the great recipes posted here! You can also get a vegetarian starter kit for free from Peta.com . Good luck!! ~Danielle , " Kenny " <jellyroll21us wrote: > > Greetings. > > Well, I am serious about becoming a vegetarian, so I am seeking some > advice. Guest guest
I made the decision, tossed all the non veg products and did it immediately and never looked back. Because I was feeling badly, health wise, I knew I had to quit! Get on the internet and read, read, read....also I purchased some good cookbooks I agree with the comment to go slowly and maybe by meat substitutes for those 'cravings'...I have found for instance, when I thought I wanted a hamburger, that really I just wanted that old taste of the whole experience...so a soy burger on whole grain with the condiments did the trick...it's like psyching the brain!!!!!!! Good luck and also, my husband has just joined me 2 weeks ago. Already his clothes are fitting better, he says he feels so satisfied and not craving the junk...you love it! Guest guest
Just pick a day and do it. Plan what you are going to fix for meals for the first week so that you don't need something quick and grab a balogne sandwich. Plan the meals then just quit eating meat. It will take a while to rid the kitchen and pantry of everything meat related, but just give or throw away all the meat and don't look back. Your body is adicted to the additives in meat and as long as you are eating any, your body still craves it. Just quit eating it and within a week or so all that jusk gets out of your body and you will stop craving it. Katie mylameoww <mylameoww wrote: Hi Kenny, How you go about it is up to you. Guest guest
Kenny, You are going to have so much fun cooking all the good things from the recipe files here. AND you are not going to believe how good you feel! My Son-in-law is a vegan and I learn how to cook things for him here too. Keep us posted on your progress. Guest guest
Zelda, you say in your messages that you learn to cook vegan things for your son-in-law. Do you not eat these things also. Just wondering. Barb , " Zelda " <zel29 wrote: > > Kenny, > > You are going to have so much fun cooking all the good things from the recipe files here.
