Guest guest
I just use a large spoon and can get out most all of it. It works better than a spatula for getting out that last little bit of thick things like hummus, falafel mix, nut butters, etc. Judy - RAWKAW Undisclosed-Recipient:; Wednesday, March 05, 2008 10:17 AM speaking of vita mx with my old blenders, I could unscrew the base and get out that last tiny morsel of yummies....any suggestions how to get out that last bit of almond mayo or creamy dressing? my spatula reaches but just spins the blades and leaves much behind! Guest guest
I've used a variety of things over the years, and have found that the longer iced tea spoons are the best, but got an idea from the pampered chef brand " scrapers " that I have yet to test out. A piece of fairly rigid plastic (like from an old food saver container) cut into a long wide spatula shape with slightly rounded ends would probably work well. Never did much in the way of nut butters in my machine because it's too deep and hard to clean, I use my little coffee grinder for that. Just a thought though, you could add water and soak it some, then whirl it clean and use that as a basis for an asian peanut butter sauce for noodles. BTW someone mentioned a machine with a spout, the older steel container vita mixes like mine have the spigot in front. Not always the easiest things in the world to clean completely, but very useful. For smoothies and foods which don't cling and get caught up in the tube, cleaning a VM is very easy - add water and a drop of detergent, whirl it for a few minutes then rinse, opening the spigot to let water run through. Hmm now have to go find that old cracked container I've been saving, lol! Take care, Barbara ______________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing.
