Breakfast Cereals - Hot & Cold

Many people have sent in e-mails on their burger findings now lets see

what everyone thinks about cereals!! What do you like, don't like,

like to try or can recommend. One of my top choices is Kashi Heart to

Heart. It may have just a smidge more sugar than I would like but it

is super tasty. I like the little heart shapes. Kashi Go Lean Crunch

Honey Almond Flax is my second favorite. I don't eat it with milk so

it is a little hard to chew! There is one other that I tried from a

nature food store in my area. It was a bulk cereal out of the barrel,

a coconut, fruity, nutty mix. Probably high in calories but some of

the tastiest cereal I've had in a long time. I suggest trying the

bulk cereals if they are available in your area.

I love Uncle Sam's with flaxseed. Also, I DO indulge ina few faves such as

Cocoa Pebbles and Lucky charms..lol..but, mostly, it's Raisn Bran or Shredded

Wheat..I like the " monster squares " ..the bisquits.

My favorite as of late is homemade oatmeal in a rice cooker (you heard

me right!). I found a recipe on RecipeZaar.com. I put in rolled

oats, steel cut oats, wheat bran, ground flaxseed, dried fruits and

sometimes chopped nuts (and water, of course). Let the rice cooker do

its magic and I have enough oatmeal for the whole week. Plus it

tastes so much better than the store-bought variety, IMHO.

p.s. Not sure if I've formally introduced myself, but I've been

lurking a short while and enjoying the many recipes. My husband and I

became vegetarian about a year ago and I absolutely love it. I love

to cook (and eat) now more than ever! :-)

I like Go Lean by Kashi. It's high in fiber, protein, and low

in fat. I also love steel cut oats which I buy in bulk.

I have been successful in making them in advance and

reheating the oats.
