Hi,

I checked the recipe files and can't find what I'm looking for, am

hoping that someone has it. Found a recipe in the mid-late 80's or

early 90's in Bon Appetit or Gourmet magazine for Vegetable Hash.

The recipe was for a bunch of different fresh veggies sliced up and

fried in a certain order (as I recall, the order was important) in a

cast iron frying pan, then finished off with some heavy cream to form a

little crust. I no longer remember exactly what was in it.

The dish took a while to make but was totally satisfying and

spectacular, and I lost the recipe! Have searched recipe sites on the

web for years, nada. Anyone? Please?

Thanks for reading!

Check out this site. There are 5 pages of recipes from those

magazines that are vegetable hash. Maybe one is the one you are

looking for.

Thanks Judy, but it wasn't there. Think that my only hope is if

someone physically saved the magazine with the recipe in it, I've never

been able to find it in a database.

Kills me that most of the 49 recipes you get when you search for

" vegetable hash " have meat in them. Added the word " vegetarian " and

got only 4. Probably the reason that I can't find this on the web.

Grumble.

Thanks anyway! :)

Barbara.....if you can remember the issue by month or if

you can remember what the cover looked like, you might

try to search for that issue on ebay. I have had great luck

in the past searching for a particular issue of an old

Decorating and Crafts magazine that had a particular knitted

baby sweater pattern in it and also an old Earth Mother News

that I was looking for. You can find anything on ebay if you

know how to search and can be patient. I hope you find either

the magazine or the recipe.....sounds good to me!
