The Google search yields myriads of entries...and I have no idea which one will get me to Amazon to find the FOOD product among all the other sites that come up that happen to have the same or similar name as what I typed. I'm looking, specifically, for Boca food products...and I really want to find a way to order (if ordering food online from Amazon is a good way to go) the Boca brand " smoked sausage " product. I have tried the Boca " Italian sausage " , and more recently, the Boca " Bratwurst " ... I was pleasantly surprised by the latter. I am, I confess, a " still-occasionally-eats-meat " person. Alas!! I went to the Boca company site and tried their " product locator " thingie--and I don't think it even works! NO Boca products are in Chicago, Indianapolis, or St. Louis, according to THEM! (Can't be true!) So, I tried again--this time, hoping to find the product thru Amazon...again, I am baffled and confused--too many possibilities come up on a Google search so far. (HUGE SIGH!!) I frankly would LIKE to give up the " meat version " of this food...if I don't have to give up eating something that tastes like it, that is healthy, that doesn't make me feel my stomach is in knots afterward...I still WANT to find the meatless smoked sausage! I don't care at all for " breakfast links " , or " patty " sausages--just these smoky-link things entice my taste buds! HELP! Does anyone know how I can find the products I'm looking for? THANKS!! Guest guest
Try using " site: amazon.com " in your Google search For example: sausage substitute site:amazon.com You'll still get the books and CDs, but all of the links will be Amazon and it will be easier to fine the food products. Guest guest
-Laura B., Boca used to make a smoked sausage product that was similar in appearance to the Italian sausage and bratwurst. My family loved them. I would make a big pot of root vegetables and use the sausage for seasoning. I haven't seen the smoked sausage for years. I wrote to the company a couple of years ago and they said that it was no longer made. I used to live in Chatham IL before moving to beautiful Idaho in 2002. Have you tried Food Fantasies on Wabash in Springfield? The store isn't very large but they are good about special orders. They also ship things to your home. You should be able to find Boca products in most grocery stores. I used to buy them at Meijer and Cub Foods in Springfield. Also, there are Whole Foods and Trader Joes in St. Louis and they carry Boca as well as many other brands such as Morningstar Farms and Gardenburger. Good luck! Guest guest
... -Laura B., Boca used to make a smoked sausage product that was similar in appearance to the Italian sausage and bratwurst. Deb in Idaho Deb, Oh, if they don't make it anymore, then they OUGHT to bring it back! :-( Why on earth would a company NOT make something that's THAT GOOD??? (And, although I do like the Italian Sausage by Boca, and their " Brats " , not everyone in the world LOVES " brats " ! I CRAVE the flavor of smoked sausage, and can only " mentally taste " how it would cook up in something like a " jambalaya " type of rice dish or with beans-and-rice, or with beans...or plain, in a sandwich...or with a biscuit, scrambled egg and slice of cheese (like the " Hardee's breakfast smoked sausage egg/cheese biscuit!)....Ahhhh!!!! I keep trying to locate something on Amazon, but all I come up with are cookbooks and recipes so far--no product that I can order. I still must be searching wrong, because it doesn't just " come up " like I keep hoping! Well, back to the drawing board. The good part is that I CAN get to a Whole Foods--with a bit of driving to it. And, yes, Food Fantasies in Springfield might be able to find it. I also am so happy that our little town of Jacksonville now has not one but TWO really NICE (though small) health food stores. I shop at one of them regularly, and they have " special ordered " items that I've requested from time to time. Maybe they could find these sausages from Boca, although the store is " technically " geared toward " organic " products (Boca is not strictly organic, I know). Some of their stock items I have noticed are also not " strictly " organic...maybe " natural " or maybe geared to the special dietary needs that some folks have. Thanks for the suggestions, however. I will keep looking and if I find it, I will be SO HAPPY! (LOL!) Today after church, I asked a friend of mine (a vegetarian from way back) if she or her husband had ever seen these Boca Sausages. She replied that she had not, but said, " If you find where to get them, please let me know!) Maybe my search will yield results sometime in the near future! --Laura B., in Illinois Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search.
