A baby backpack is great to use too and then you have your front side free to

move and do things. The ones with frames are easiest to put on and take off,

and great for hiking with. We found this very helpful and the straps tthat came

around in front of both your arms and your waist were padded which helped a lot

with the comfort level for you. We had something similar to this. Just set it

up on a table, set the baby into it and back up to the table, slip your arms

into it, buck and you're ready, then to take it off, just back up to a table

and ease it off. The frame keeps it upright for you. You don't need help

putting these on, all by yourself.

Another thing that ours liked were those little baby bouncer seats and you

could set them up on the kitchen counter beside you while you cooked. They

were a life saver for us. Here is a picture of one, but there are many

different ones here on the Walmart website.

Also maybe a baby swing that you could move to the kitchen area while you were

cooking.

Enjoy every precious moment. They pass thru each stage so quickly.

I do. I need to get it out, and use it. I hate having to let him cry to do

things.

We also had a baby backpack but I found that for a tiny baby

it will not work....at least the kind we had would not work until

the baby is old enough to sit up, holds their head up very well

and is above a certain weight. I also didn't like it because

I could not see the baby...if the baby got twisted or slumped

down. In one of the old fashioned Snuggli baby carriers,

you can put the baby in the front until they get too heavy to

carry them on your front and then you can switch it to

the back until the baby is just too big to put in it...I used it on the

back with my girls until they were at least 2.
