Guest guest
It is important to continue to re-introduce her to a variety of veggies, so she won't stay picky. Check our recipe files with kid friendly recipes. Great stuff in there. But really any of recipes can be made for the family. My kids have been mostly eating the same as my husband and myself, since they were quite young . We eat a huge variety of foods. As they get older they try more and more foods. http://library.thinkquest.org/3750/taste/taste.html Don't worry their taste buds enjoy more foods the older they get. Guest guest
Keep insisting that she, at least try, new foods, but in general kids like the simple, non-mixed foods. Usually steamed vegetables that they can eat with their fingers go over well and get them to try new ones. Be sure to try the " cuban cigars " in the files, too, My dh is like a kid and he loves these. They are finger friendly, too. Some things can be disguised, like sweet potatoes and you can pass them off as desert. (Sweet potato pie is an old standby and sweet potato custard is good, too.) Guest guest
When my kids where this age I always gave them fresh veggies and dip with lunch and dinner and usually some kind of fruit with breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have always eaten veggies they love salads. You can make them baked tofu nuggets here is my recipe: I always freeze and defrost the tofu before pressing it gives the tofu better texture. 1 cake of pressed tofu cut into cubes 1/2 cup bread crumbs 2 TBS corn meal here is where I stop measuring some sage, black pepper, white pepper, spike seasoning, garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt. pour into a plastic bag and shake it to combine. Put the tofu into the bag and shake, shake, shake your booty. place a piece of parchment paper on the cookie sheet and spread some oil over it. Put breaded tofu on parchment spray with cooking spray. bake at 350 20-25 minutes. I turned them over once at about 15 minutes. You can eat it with a dipping sauce or add it to a salad, or pasta **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Watch the video on AOL Home. One thing I've noticed both my kids do (ages 13 & 5 1/2) is say 'I don't like that' when what they mean is 'I'm tired of that'. Sanna will eat grapes in her lunch for 2 weeks, then all of a sudden 'I don't like grapes'. Huh? Maybe because I'm not quite awake when I make her lunch, it took me a few months (ok years) before I realized she just meant she was tired of it. Now after a couple weeks I'll ask if she's getting tired of something in her lunch before I buy more. Saves a lot of grief. As an adult I'll eat something to get it gone and keep from wasting it, but with her school lunches I know its likely to get thrown out. Amy **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros.
