Guest guest
I must admit to having a leaning toward believing that people are least partially responsible for some of the problems relative to global warming, etc. but that is more a feeling than fact based on what I do or do not know. Nevertheless the mention of the Ice Age not being caused by humans did make me wonder. Wikipedia has some interesting information on causes and it seems to indicate that it is all theory and nothing is truly conclusive (okay, I skimmed it, so won't swear to that). Nevertheless it looked like it would be interesting for people to read. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_age Relative to people not causing atmospheric changes, considering the number of people on the earth and the things used and built by people on the earth I have a hard time believing that we're not effecting the earth somehow and just because the ice age wasn't caused by humans doesn't mean that other atmospheric problems aren't caused by humans. I don't think it is logically correct to say, the ice age wasn't caused by humans, thus global warming isn't caused by humans. The second part of the statement may or may not be true but it does not logically follow from the first statement. However, I agree, turning off the lights for an hour isn't going to help much. Guest guest
I turned my lights off for Earth Hour but more so as an example to my children. We try to be " green " in our daily life. I think the big issue is what are people doing on a day to day basis over the long term. Not just for one hour. Jacqueline
