I took the quiz too. I use their products and recycle their containers

to create tiny grow boxes/mini green houses for my seedlings. I can

always use another shopping bag. I now use them at Walmart, the Vitamin

Cottage, Whole Food, etc. My local King Soopers pays me 5 cents for

every bag that I bring in to use instead of plastic or paper. I buy my

*used canvas* bags at my local ARC thrift store for a couple dollars

ea.

I want to thank you for sharing this with us. I have taken the quiz and am

use my bag for my organic vegetables!

I'll have to take the quiz. Winn Dixie and Fresh Market are now selling

fabric bags for groceries for $1 each. I have bought several and try to

remember to take them to the grocery store with me and reuse. When I do

occasionally get plastic bags, I use them to line my smaller trash cans in

the bathrooms. My husband is even using one of the Winn Dixie fabric bags

for his lunch that he takes every day to work. At first folks at his work

were teasing him, but not anymore and a couple more have started doing the

same.

We always seem to run one bag short when we do a big shop--Thank you,

Terri! That's very cool.

Peace,

Maureen

I have a number of cloth, reusable grocery tote bags that I have collected

over

the years. Years ago, you could order recycle style cloth bags from Regis

and Kathy Lee

for a dollar each and I got 8 of those. Then I have Windstar Foundation

bags and some

that are plain with no logo on them. The bad thing is that having used all

of these grocery

totes since the late 80's, they are all wearing out so I am looking for new

ones. A good idea,

if you have a sewing machine, is to reinforce the stitching on the handles

where they attach

to the bag section and turn it wrong-side out and reinforce the bottom

inside.. You will get a

lot more years of wear out of them if you do this. Groceries are a lot

heavier than you would

think even when you don't have a lot in each bag and it will also take a lot

more bags than you

think it will to put all of your groceries into cloth or canvas bags. But,

they work SO much

better than those darn little plastic bags that tear! I usually roll up

the bags at home and put them

all inside one bag until I need them again.

Have fun!

We are military and the commissary is selling re-usable bags for 70 cents

each. We bought 10 and 2 freezer bags. We use them everytime.

Several friend have also started using them as a result of seeing me use

mine.
