Guest guest
Deanna, It's WONDERFUL if you cut it into smaller bits and put it in ginger cookies. I can't eat it straight like you do. :-) Sharon genny_y2k wrote: > I recently discovered crystalized Ginger and these little cubes of > sugared ginger are a really different taste sensation. >
Guest guest
I'l have to see if I can find that... I'm usually not fond of ginger because i drank ginger root tea to combat morning sickness... but that sounds yummy!! genny_y2k <genny_y2k wrote: I recently discovered crystalized Ginger and these little cubes of sugared ginger are a really different taste sensation. Hot, spicy and sweet. Yummy! Mine is bulk organic at $5.00 per lb. but it lasts for a very long time. I keep mine in the fridge and whenever I want to perk up my appetite or crave a sweet I eat a cube. I also have placed a couple cubes in a cup of hot tea and the taste is wonderful. I had never tried Crystalized Ginger until a few months ago when my niece left some as a gift. I had to ask our group what to do with it. If you haven't tried it and you like sweet and hot Ginger you are missing something good. Besides it is anti-bacterial and supposed to be very good for our intestinal tract. Also excellent for stuffiness caused by allergies and sinus infections. Smiles and hugs Deanna
Guest guest
Sarah-Warning Please check with your OBGYN about drinking ginger tea while pregnant. My Vitamin-Mineral books warms that ginger should not be consumed while pregnant. Deanna , Sarah Zlimen <belmonte25 wrote: > > I'l have to see if I can find that... Guest guest
Thanks Nikka, We are still working on the 5 lbs. of purchased from you even though it's included in our everyday diet. I would like to add that everything we purchase from you seems to be the freshest of fresh and I thank you. Nothing has ever lasted as long here. I have no words for the avocados other than " magnificent! " I've never had experiences with organic avos as I've had with yours. Keep up the good work. Guest guest
If I'm going to use it promptly, I keep it in the fridge. If I have more than I'm going to use in a week, I peel it, slice it, and store it in a jelly jar in the fridge, covered with sherry. The sherry preserves it for a good long time and when the ginger is all gone, it makes a tasty addition to stir fried anything. -ginger normally a lurker, glad to have something to add :-)

Guest guest
I find that if you wrap it well in plastic wrap (note follows) and put it in the coldest area of the fridge it will even stay well for a month or so without becoming dried out or too soft. Note: being an avid recycler, I like to reuse as often as possible the plastic bags that I may have to take from the vegetable stand so I'll sometimes cut them, as needed, to replace the need for more wrap. Since I have a gazillion twist ties, they are coming in handy.
