Guest guest
I couldn't live without my immersion blender. I use it every morning for my protein shake. I must admit that the one I bought was rather pricey - it's a Wolfgang Puck model that I bought from the shopping channel. I retired my cheaper one for this because it has a much longer wand and I can puree larger batches of soup etc without splashing myself with hot liquid. It came with lots of attachments but they haven't been used at all. ( ) ( __ c\_/ Audrey
Guest guest
They had the one at Walmart with 3 attachments, but I have weak hands and wrists and I actually took them out and looked at them and found it was hard for me to hold on to. Along with being much heavier and longer, it was also slicker! I figure a $10 starting point is great to begin with and one can always work their way up if need be, I can't wait to make something now, like pea, or brocolli or asparagus soup....hmmmmmm..... http://blogs.delphiforums.com/n/blogs/blog.aspx?webtag=cozy_at_home & nav=start
Guest guest
My Immersion blender is used on a daily basis. Smoothies, soups, gravies, mayonnaise, and more. I use it more then any other small appliance. -Nina
Guest guest
Thanks for that tid-bit of info! I will look for them the next time I'm over there and see what's available. I don't own one; I'm a real sucker for all kinds of kitchen gadgets anyway! I've also seen very inexpensive small appliances in one of the aisles at Walgreens drug stores. A couple of years ago, I purchased a 1 1/2 quart slow cooker from Walgreens and it has been very useful. They sell little rice cookers, but I've not gone that route yet. I'll look for the hand-blenders (immersion blenders) next time I'm there, too. Peace! -Laura B., in Illinois Wal Mart has cheap ones for $9 which should last long enough to discover if you like it or not.
