Guest guest
I haven't made any kind of milk in soy milk maker in months. In fact, I made 1 soy & 1 almond milk the first week I had machine & haven't made anymore. Now I want to make some rice milk & I have a question about the recipes. Do you always soak the rice? I saw one recipe for brown rice & the recipe said to soak it. The white rice recipe didn't say to soak the rice prior to making it. I'd like to make some milk using white rice so I was wondering if I should soak it or not. anyone know? thanks, Rhoda
Guest guest
I rinse my rice, I don't soak it. Some Asian recipes call for it being soaked first. Usually that is when it's cooked in a bamboo steamer. Donna Rhoda <rsmith wrote: I haven't made any kind of milk in soy milk maker in months. Guest guest
Hi Erika, It is pretty easy to make but not as nutritious in terms or protein or vitamins and minerals as other milks. If you have a soymilk maker you can usually follow the manufacturer's instructions to make some. There are a couple recipes with this page. (There are a lot of ways to make it.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rice_milk http://www.recipezaar.com/recipe/getrecipe.zsp?id=51109 <<http://www.nandyala.org/mahanandi/archives/2007/09/01/homemade-rice-milk-horch\ ata/>> Slim , ArizonaMommyOf3 wrote: > > How do you make rice milk? Guest guest
I tried making instant pudding with it last fall. It didn't work & we had to drink it with a straw, lol! We're having a cultural awareness day next week & it would be cool to make Horchata. Some of the Hispanic mothers are going to make homemade tortillas.
