I have been using one for years also and don't think any of us have suffered any

ill effects from them.

Clay pots cozyhomelife

I don't know what you are talking about. Romertopf , German clay pots are

unglazed and safe. My family has baked in these for generations. I used mine

weekly.

I have two.....one large one and one that is smaller, round and is made for

baking apples. I even use my large one for

baking sourdough bread once in a while.....it gives it a great crispy crust.

I'm sorry if my post about clay pots/lead upset some people. I think the

problem may be diference of location and exposure. If you say you have

safe lead free clay pots for cooking, I certainly believe you. The only

thing I was trying to say is that it is not common knowledge to everyone.

In my area, if one was told to cook something in a clay pot, they would draw

a blank, and ask 'what do you mean'? Other than that, the only time I ever

hear reference to clay pots/dishwear in my area is on the news with lead

warnings. (I stress, in my area) Again, I'm not saying your or all pots

are bad, only that not everyone already knows about cooking in clay pots and

what safe brands are.

I don't think you need to apologize for giving information which you

felt is important to our health. So now I have a question..How do we

know if our cookware, dishes, etc. are lead free? I have only two bowls

that are marked " made in the USA and Lead free " . Does anyone know if

it is required by law to state if cookware/dishes are lead free? I buy

only glass dishes and cook in iron, porcelain, or glass. As

Vegetarians/Vegans we want to know that the food we so carefully choose

is prepared safely.
