Guest guest
Are we talking about cloths that we use to wash dishes, dry them or both? I crochet my cloths that I use to wash dishes from cotton thread. The size I find most comfortable is apx. 6 in.by 6 in. Using a double crochet stitch. I also crochet these cloths to use as body wash cloths.Same size but single crochet. For body cloths a close knitted together stitch works best but for a dish cloth the more open crochet stitch works best. Faster drying. You can also use left over yarn for the cloths but my preferance is cotton. It is more expensive by the way. Even though these cloths are not real expensive to make keep in mind the time it takes to make one. If you paid someone by the hour to make one it would be very expensive. My mother crochets beautiful afghans but it might take her several hours a day for several weeks to finish one . A kind way to repay someone for hours of work is to barter with them a fair trade item. Most crafters will not accept money unless they do it for a living but repaying them with your special gift is a very nice thing to do. Guest guest
My favorite dish cloths are the ones I crocheted myself. The are sturdier and just more pleasant in the hand. It also makes washing dishes almost fun to use them and remember the times I spent with my grandchildren when they were babies. Watching over then while they slept, crocheting, just enjoying the time. Those are easy, cause it is just a double crochet square. I downloaded the instructions for the string bag and am going to have to get them translated. 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each ch to end of ch means nothing to me. Guest guest
I knit hand towels for the kitchen and bathroom as well as dish/face cloths. I add crocheted lace edging to the hand towels using either a finger weight cotton yarn or size 10 crochet cotton. The towels end up being about the same size as a hand towel for the bathroom. I make them for myself and for gifts. Kathleen Are we talking about cloths that we use to wash dishes, dry them or both? I crochet my cloths that I use to wash dishes from cotton thread.
