Guest guest
Sorry, I don't know, but I kind of suspect not. If you are a vegetarian, check the label. Most miso soup powder contains fish, sometimes labeled as " bonito " , which is tuna. I bought some instant miso soup recently at Trader Joes without reading the label -- I only noticed my error when I returned home. The nice thing about miso is that it lasts in your fridge forever. I have 3 tubs in mine -- white, yellow and barley. Generally, the lighter the color, the milder the flavor. Guest guest
I would not think so. By miso soup powder do you mean dashi? Most dashi contains bonito or dried fish flakes. If you need the texture of the miso paste for your recipe you might be able to make a very thick white bean paste and add some extra soy sauce or tamari for the flavor. Would that work? hth, Peace, Diane , " mylameoww " <mylameoww wrote: > > does anyone know how/ or if I can substitute instant miso soup powder > in a recipe that calls for miso paste??
