Mike, it should be in the ethnic isle like Donna

stated. This is where I find it from my grocery

chain. Funny thing is, each time I buy a jar it's a

different brand but I don't notice the flavor being

different.

We have a safeway here and they do not carry tahini here either. I found it at

wild oats with the peanut butter.

Hope that helps, Jenn

Our Safeway stopped carrying it also but we have several Indian and

Middle Eastern groceries that carry it. Hm, maybe one of the new big

Chinese groceries too. Haven't checked those yet. Admittedly not

every town/suburb has such groceries. Maybe it has something to

do with living in the San Francisco Bay area. Too bad we also have

the highest gas prices in the nation and let's not even talk about

house prices (even if some of them are dropping).

Yah, I'm north of you in Oregon. Our town only has a safeway. I have to drive

130 miles to a wild oats or anything else. I got a recipe from the net though on

how to make tahini once and it was pretty good. I just make sure to buy 3 or 4

jars when I go out of town. Now to learn how to use the BBQ to cook eggplant for

baba ghanoush..lol.

MaraNatha Tahini is my favorite brand. That is because I have found it

doesn't seem to separate from the oil and need remixing like others do. It

has a good flavor. I keep it in the refrigerator to prolong the shelf life.

I find it at health food stores.
