Guest guest
I haven't heard of this cookbook. I'd say the recipes are very good for newbies like me, or if you want to make a quick, simple meal using fresh, wholesome ingredients. I did try quinoa, which is something I'd never had before, and I really like it. I ate it plain with a few dried cranberries thrown in and can see how you can use it in various ways like making salads with it. For many of you I'd say it's a bit elementary and certainly not in the caliber of the recipes I've seen here. But it offers some insight regarding various foods and what benefit you derive from them along with her observations regarding the proper way to eat and mix various foods, ie: fruit is digested the fastest so eat it first. It's pleasantly presented with little tips in the margins along the way. An easy read with some good ideas! ______________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
Thanks for the review, dollkel! I'd be interested in her adzuki/butternut squash (or maybe that was adzuki/sweet potato) stew. I'd also be interested in her bean pattie recipe. Sharon dollkel wrote: > I received the cookbook yesterday and have read through it. Guest guest
It's a British cookbook that goes along with a British TV show. I enjoy watching the show on BBC America and was also curious about the cookbook after seeing her various recipes. :-) Sharon Donnalilacflower wrote: > I haven't heard of this cookbook. >
Guest guest
It so funny that you mentioned this cookbook. I was watching the show this morning on the BBC. I was thinking that some of the vegetarian recipes they were being taught to make sounded good and was wondering if there was a cookbook. Not everything they are taught to cook is vegetarian, but most were..... It is a very good show. Thanks for the info about the cookbook. Guest guest
I don't have the cookbook, but have the 'You Are What You Eat - The plan that will change your life' book. For those who don't know anything about it, it's from the show of the same name on BBC. People tend to either hate or love Jillian McKeith, I happen to enjoy the show extremely. On each show she has someone who is in dire danger due to their weight and she starts off by showing a table full of the food they ate that week. Invariably it is a table of tan food. Then she shows a table full of the food they will be eating for the next 8 weeks, which is every color of fruit and vegetable you can imagine - just beautiful. She may say something here or there that is not quite scientific, and I don't reallly know if that's because she doesn't know or is just over simplyfying. But I can say that seeing that full table of abundance has been such an inspiration to me and really inspired me in my new path. You can see more on the show here: http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/273/index.jsp
