Guest guest
That is wonderful news Katie. I hope your garden will flourish for you this year and soon too. It was a major job because my husband had stored a lot of stuff in there over the winter that had to come out befor my cucumbers and tomatoes could move it. Hopefully we won't get any more snow and the temps will stay up high enough that it won't take to much heat. It was plenty warm enough in there from the sun yesterday, but of course it went way down at night. > This morning I have little green growing things in my greenhouse. Guest guest
Thank you, Ani. I love growing fresh vegetables that I know what they were grown in and how good they are. There is nothing in the world that compares with a tomato fresh off the vine and still warm from the sun. Katie apples_n_melons <apples_n_melons wrote: That is wonderful news Katie. Guest guest
Katie, I'm so impressed with your bedroom gardening. I hope your temps don't get to cold. We were 80 degrees here in Southern Alabama. I did yard work all afternoon. One of those project was digging up some canna lillie bulbs to share with others. The Canna lilies keep wanting to expand out farther than I want them to, because they multiply so quickly. They keep trying to grow up into small shrubs and rose bushes that I have planned in front of them. Now I have something to share with others that doesn't cost me anything, but they get a gardern of beautiful mass canna lillies for them. Guest guest
One year we had a really late spring and I had cucumbers growing all the way up the walls and I was actually harvesting ripe cukes by the time I got them out of my bedroom. I couldn't close the blinds at night because I couldn't reach through all those leaves, but no one could see in, anyway. I would send you a cpicture if I could. I have baby cukes already set this year and the squash is blossoming. I worked my tail off this afternoon. and still have several more days of hard work to get everything planted. I will have extras of tomatoes and cukes and squash that I give away on freecycle. I had one guy that I gave some to last year keep my email address and he emailed me a few days ago asking if I would have extras again this year.
