Guest guest
Did anyone see it last night? I felt bad seeing Mark the New Zealander get the boot. He made a vegetarian meal, the kids loved it, the judges kept saying it lacked protein. Donna Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile
Guest guest
And that vegetarian meal was probably loaded with it, but just not in the meat form. With all the protein that is in most any fruit, vegetable, grain, nut, it is hard to not get enough isn't it. We were watching American Idol , so missed that show......... We miss Michael Johns and Carley that shockingly got eliminated. Probably because the phone lines are always busy, when you go to vote for you favorite contestant.. We hope David Cook or David Archeletta wins. They are our favorite two remaining ones. - thelilacflower Vegetarian Group Thursday, May 01, 2008 3:25 PM Top Chef Did anyone see it last night? Guest guest
I watched, wasn't that surprised to see him go. He has to stop tasting and putting the spoon back in the pot. g **************Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food. Guest guest
That is the way my grandmother and mother cook. It is really hard for me to do it as well (especially when baking ) Cassie glpveg4life wrote: I watched, wasn't that surprised to see him go. Guest guest
No, he tasted the spoon and reused it on the tailgate cookout, on this past Weds he was booted for making a vegetarian dish, had nothing to do with the spoon. This was a lack of protein because it was a vegetarian curry dish. Guest guest
Imagine a chef tasting and having come down with strept throat. Keeping in mind that you are contagious 2 days before you even know you have something, he could be responsible for an epidemic! http://blogs.delphiforums.com/n/blogs/blog.aspx?webtag=cozy_at_home & nav=start
Guest guest
Here are two helpful websites....one from Georgetown University on how to determine how much protein a person needs per day to be healthy....and the second is a chart on the nutritional value of a number of fruits and links to vegetables, seeds and nuts that I thought might help everyone out in making sure you are getting enough COMPLETE protein in your daily food intake. Actually fruits and vegetables do not contain complete proteins and many contain only trace amounts so knowledge is an excellent key to being healthy. Sometimes, especially if you are new at changing your food lifestyle, it is hard to get in enough of all of the essential minerals and vintamins. It takes careful planning to do this until you are totally familiar with all foods and how to prepare and eat them. Have a super day! Nancy C. Guest guest
I'm not sure if it was TOP CHEF or one of the very similar shows, with Gordon Ramsey, but I was amazed at the poor girl that scalded her hand, and ran from the kitchen! The first aid for a burn is IMMEDIATE cold water. Seconds count. Just like food removed from the oven or nuker, skin continues too 'cook' after burning and you must stop it immediately to prevent a worse burn. And yet, surrounded by water, she runs from the kitchen and is seen having butter/lard put on her burn in the back somewhere. COLD WATER IMMEDIATELY IS THE FIRST THING, SECONDS COUNTS, DON'T DELAY! http://blogs.delphiforums.com/n/blogs/blog.aspx?webtag=cozy_at_home & nav=start
